“Equip the Next Generation” students complete the Sermon on the Mount

At the end of April RC began a new group of students we are calling “Equip the Next Generation.” These are young people from every province in Rwanda who demonstrate great promise as leaders in God’s church in Rwanda. We plan to study with this group of young people on every trip.

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am about this group.  While a few are already involved in leadership positions in the local church, they all demonstrate leadership qualities. And yes, some are leaders among leaders. I am impressed with their ability to learn, but also their desire to know God’s Word. As we studied the Sermon on the Mount, they asked great questions. At times their questions involved other passages of Scripture and how that passage fits with what Jesus was saying. This was something I did not experience with the older church leaders when we first studied together in 2011. The ETNG students are bright, eager, and deeply committed to the Bible and God’s Church.

On Friday the ETNG students completed their study of Matthew 5 – 7. Gene Andrews assisted in this study until Thursday when he flew back to Washington, NC. The students grew in their ability to use their Kinyarwanda Study Bibles and the Africa Bible Commentary. I praise God for what He is doing in the lives of these young Rwandans.
